The Voyager 2 flyby, which reached Uranus in January 1986 and produced these images, revealed few new dramatic features. The false color image shows some detail, particularly the reddish circle marking the planetΓÇÖs pole. More interesting visually are UranusΓÇÖs moons, five of which were discovered from Earth; ten additional moons were discovered by Voyager. Their visible surface features are numerous and varied and provide clues to their history.
